I've replied to Lem below with an example of phishing attack that would work with Google Authenticator, but not with a security key.

In full fairness, if you use authenticator you're probably good. Advanced Protection, as the name suggests, is a pretty paranoic setting for people that feel at risk of targeted online attacks.
